23 and me, The CEO of the company is Anne Wojcicki does that name ring a bell? It should! She's the sister of none other that Susan Wojcicki the CEO of YouTube! The founder, Linda Avery worked at Affymetrix where they (wait for it) worked in identifying genetic markers for diagnostic tests and also patented the GeneChip technology. She also worked for Perlegen Sciences where they were responsible for coordinating the world's first genome-wide association studies.
