Read 2 corinthians 3 dude.
Yes, now back up to Acts 1. How do you receive the Spirit, but by hearing the Word and believing it.
Sectarian Christianity keeps its followers in bondage with doctrine. You must agree with their interpretation of the Bible to be part of their sect. Doctrine is derived from interpretations of a book, like lawyers, forcing agreance with there interpretation. Now you follow doctrine and you do not follow the Lord Jesus Christ. You fight for your doctrine, you demand other comply to your doctrine, all the while Jesus knows His own. That is what the Revelation of Jesus Christ is about, the living Lord conquering Babylon. Babylon is confusion, it has many doctrines all derived from improper interpretation of a book. It appears as a lamb, but has the voice of a dragon.
Yes because nobody knows the words of God like they're supposed to. This opens up the door wide for another authority to come in and tell us what to believe. What do you think I've been trying to tell you? God gave us his word because Satan has spirits too, and the written word is what you try those spirits by.
That certainly is effective, but if the written word is misinterpreted, then it is not trying those spirits, it is just another error filled wrong doctrine.
The word of God gets built up in us as we apply it, gain the victory and stand on that word made real to is, it's not the written word it's the spirit of truth. People blunder the written word all the time, and we learn from that experience as well.
Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Experience is what makes us love God, we Experience the Spirit of the word given to us. The more we Experience, the surer we become and we start to understand hope, hope is all the good things God has taught us as our expectation. We expect the goodness of God through much Experience.
Yes! It's not the written word, it's the preached word. We're not a bunch of lawyers, we're free by the truth of Jesus Christ, it's what Acts is about, the spread of the word of God, in spirit and in truth, we don't worship a book, we have books for our learning, they are to be rightly applied with proper spiritual interpretation. The carnal mind receives not the things of God. God is Spirit.
So I can stand on the street corner and babble a bunch of words and people will be saved by it because I'm in the right spirit?
Preach the Gospel Andy.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
