Hello frens, a few hours ago I opened up a discussion with friends. I laid out hints about how a concerted effort of certain people in power seek to control all others by laying out increasingly restrictive laws for the supposed sake of the greater good. Needless to say, their heads exploded. They couldn't comprehend the message I endeavored to convey, and called morality into question. I'm realizing now that so many people still sleep, and being confronted with a terrifying reality causes their defense mechanisms to trigger and in turn, their faculties to fail. We need to be prayerful for these lost souls.
Even so, God Wins.
It may be that they are sincerely motivated by the idea of "the greater good." That's an admirable trait, to want good for others. You can tailor your speech to make them question how much good a policy is doing--go at this obliquely, not directly, that always makes people defensive.
