It’s becoming an increasing trend to add a “pronoun” to you email sig. I first noticed it with an HR rep...not a shocking discovery. Then I started seeing it with those in high level technical roles.
The most recent comes from someone who had a known promotion(yes, there are “unknown” promotions, 4am ballot drop kind). This person got a promotion and the pronoun followed.
It appears the “leadership” is pushing this crap.
It may in fact be "concidence"... i mean its not... someone is telling them to do that... but my guess is, you get a promotion, and then your boss or whoever... well now that you are more visible, make sure you add x,y,z to your profile, set your availability in calendar constantly, etc, etc
Happens at my job... how do I know? I recently got promoted. I still didn't add the pronouns though. They asked why and I said its just too confusing to people and makes my title too long on screen and I don't care if people were to mess up my pronouns because it wouldn't offend me... so far they haven't forced me.
