Buy some diamond grade retroreflective tape and glue some of it to the underneath of a baseball cap, or any other wide brimmed hat. Keep lifting your head in these shops to dazzle and blind these cameras, this works.

Shop-Rite self check-out has had them for a while. You get to watch yourself scan overpriced food and pay more than you can afford for the privilege of feeding your family.

I stopped using them, and actually shop carefully for the cashier I want to work with to get the frick out of the store. I really don't enjoy food shopping.
