Think of it this way; regardless of what you believe, these guys (the satanist's that run the world) have a belief system; that they are in touch with alien/demonic entities that are giving them technology, plans, etc.

Whether these aliens are merely voices in their head is immaterial. They believe it to be aliens/demons.
