Is he would have got caught doing the exact same thing in the USA the sentence is 26 - 48 years (per count, and they like to divide it up and hit you multiple times.) Most people convicted of this charge get LIFE in prison in the US system.

We should be thanking russia for going so easy on him, but then again girls do tend to get lighter sentences.
