I'm old (just turned 75) and also new here. What does woke mean, specifically?

I'm afraid I still don't get it. I think it's a bit much to summarise in one comment. Are there any books you can recommend on the topic?

Is there one you can recommend that I read? One that is less covered in bias? All I want is to understand what's going on, but I don't really get it.

They want to force that tithe (carbon credit) on all of us, from corporations down to the individual.

Heavily leftist isn't a bad way of summing it up.

The Rainbow Coalition may be a more timely reference for you. They were woke before woke was a thing:

Social justice warriors (SJW and formerly 'politically correct' AKA PC) who decided to give themselves a new name. Woke is a variation on wake, as in 'I woke up', but it's really more on the order of 'I'm stupid'.

you could make that 'very stupid'.
