Lake Mead, effects of a 22yr drought, or something more sinister?

Videos all over YouTube are telling us how this man made lake is slowly “evaporating.” I wonder is that the real story? Or, is the southwest really being choked to death through some evil people. Any locals on here with their thoughts?
