If I’m not mistaken, make sure your not being supplied with federal of state benefits before you opt out of paying income taxes. In many cases, from what I’ve heard, you lose those benefits. Like health insurance from your employer. For instance I know a teacher getting Cobra insurance ($680) plan for $80 a month. I’m not sure if it’s a state or federal insurance plan, but to opting out of tax payments could jeopardize that plan. Tennessee has Tenncare. I’m almost positive if you stop paying taxes you lose those insurance benefits.
Just something to think about. You could always get your own stuff. Just might wanna look into it first. Some health insurance can get very costly per month.
This is correct as far as unemployment goes. I do not ask for benefits, nor can I receive them, I don't apply for health insurance. Social security is optional program, you pay into it if you want a benefit from it, totally separate.
I don't think the social security tax is optional in any way, shape or form for a w2 employee (only if you are 1099). Just sayin.
I was a w2er once. Everything is optional. You pay, you play. Don't cry for benefits later if you don't save.
Social security is 100% mandatory. It is not possible to exempt yourself on the w-2. I've been paying into the social security system since I got my first job and itll all be gone when I'm ready to receive the benefits
Social security deductions are not optional for people who w2.
