My father fell for the Amazon scam. A caller told him to withdraw all of his money and put it into Bitcoin. He withdrew all of his savings, leaving just enough to cover electronic payments. Thankfully he wised up before the bitcoin purchase, but it could have been stopped much earlier if the teller had asked questions, or asked for an invoice. I don’t have a problem with this if it’s used as fraud prevention.
