So this story is of a dude, who goes to a median (basically an oracle or witch doctor of sorts) to try and bring up a spirit of someone he knows.
This has absolutely nothing to do with asking for intercession (which would be to petition to God on our behalf. All power comes from the Almighty, I am not sure why you don't seem to grasp that we believe that. The lengths you people will go to try and say we are doing crazy shit is astounding. Your own logic isn't even adding up and you really thought sending me this would change anything without understanding what it was actually saying. Going to another living MAN and asking him to conjure up a spirit that only the Almighty can do and permit, has NOTHING to do with asking for someone else to pray for you. Get real.
Ever since my conversion to Catholicism, my bond with the King of kings has been stronger than anything I could have ever imagined, I feel no stronger connection with anything or anyone else.
So, in order for a dead person to receive prayers, the dead individual has to hear the prayer, possess the power to answer it, and know how to answer it in a way that is best for the individual praying. Only God hears and answers prayer because of His perfect essence and because of what some theologians call His “immanence.” Immanence is the quality of God that causes Him to be directly involved with the affairs of mankind (1 Timothy 6:14-15); this includes answering prayer
Anything to separate you from God, that is the antichrist, brother.
Never mind it was the catholic that killed Joan of Arc, now they pray to her? This doesn't raise any questions with you?
Catholic's kill one another all the time, that means nothing as Joan of Arc was also Catholic. I am sure if a conflict arose I would be pinned against other Catholics, which would be fine as we all have to choose a side.
You are right with that verse though, God is the only one who answers prayers but to let a Saint know, what issue you are having, they would then bring up that issue to God. Not that God wouldn't already know as he knows all things, but it would just add more weight to what you are asking for. None of this is a requirement just something you can do. No different than having your mom ask your dad for something on your behalf, would be worth more than you just asking.
God gets all glory, the Saints have no power that doesn't come from God. Where is the separation from God?
To also add on, the war was more political then it was religious, this was during the 100 years war, the war was waged by nobility who had much to gain, Catholics being pinned against Catholics was nothing out of the ordinary.
