I remember when this happened and there were many on scene witnesses in private boats who swore they saw a missile rising from the ocean surface toward the jet, and the subsequent explosion. There were so many witnesses to this incident that they ALL could not have been wrong.

EDIT: I also remember that after the fake investigation of the incident, passenger jets had to rework the wiring near the fuel tanks, as if that was the cause of the plane coming down. Very expensive and unnecessary action. But hey, gotta protect the guilty, eh?
