Ok, this is almost too much to read through. And I just don’t have time in my life to read all these!
However, I have serious concerns about Ranked Choice Voting. I made a post about it a couple of weeks ago..
We (Alaska, and probably Maine also), because we are the only two states using it right now, need some serious eyes on this voting method.
We need help as State citizens to understand it better - and because I am not a nerd with a computer and use my phone mostly, I have very serious concerns about this method of voting.
I am not a highly recognized anon, but I would certainly welcome your opinion on this subject of RCV.
You can read through my previous posts that didn’t get anywhere, but I’ve been sharing articles on our frustrations with understanding this method here in AK.
Can you help bring light to this subject alone?
I think it has many potential downfalls with layers of obfuscation. And could be used in future elections to really mess things up.
Thanks for ur help! I’m just a nurse!! Not an anon 😂🤷♀️
I think they should argue RCV is subverting the principle of one person, one vote.
This only applies to contests with more than two candidates, since it only goes into effect if no one wins a majority, and in that case, the candidate with the lowest percentage of votes has his eliminated, and everyone who voted for him will have their second choice added to the totals.
So someone basically would get to cast a vote twice.
