Because from what I somewhat understand it has to do with maritime law. Basically looking at it like a corporate or "ship" merger. This goes all the way back to the East India trading company and the way they hijacked America and put us under maritime law. I am sure more apt scholars than me could elaborate. We are literally "chattel" to them. The license is like a merger document. I am not agreeing any of this is right or acceptable, I am just putting it out there I think this is the basis for it. Please correct me if I am wrong.
