I like Qwant

I also use Yandex from time to time just because it's the least censored.

Qwant gladly complied with the EU to censor Russian news sites.

They are based in france and were legally obligated to by EU law.

Just have to use Yandex for that stuff

Yes, they gladly complied with sanctions placed on them by the government where they operate.

Use. Yandex (Russian owned. Based in Russia) for Russian stuff.
