Probably ran into a storm cell, we've had lots of weather even out in the desert, and Yuma is as desert as it gets. These monsoon storms don't usually have a firm front edge like winter storms.
Yeah, I’ve read there was tornado activity recently in AZ. Could have been a technical problem as well. I used to check what it was spelling out every day.
Tornados are pretty rare and small, but microbursts in the approaching storm do a lot of similar damage. Fortunately they are more localized.
We sometimes get the EF 0 and 1 tornadoes here in FL. They actually can do a lot a damage in just a few seconds of time. Last week a bunch of neighbors had tree limbs down and I was thankful I had had my giant sycamore taken down last year.
