When I was in the military, they're always say about our career field.... "you are the top 1%" referring to smarts.

Then I got out and went to college, and my head went down a significant number of notches (thankfully). I was not was smart as I wanted to be, or thought/hoped I was.

It took me a while to realize they probably say that to a number of fields, and it helped with retention.

So now....I am very skeptical when someone starts pumping sunshine up my ass.
