I have distanced myself from most of those who just don't get it. I see it as a character issue and I am repulsed by what drives it.
These people are driven by ego, deep insecurities, the need to fit in with prevailing paradigms (conformity), risk avoidance, seeking comfort and escape via hedonism, intoxicants and pharmaceuticals, irresponsibility, immaturity.
Maybe they were born this way (I think not) or became this way through indoctrination or trauma inflicted on them at critical developmental stages by parents, culture, "well meaning" influencers.
I have compassion for them but CHOOSE to learn and grow from the camaraderie of others free of the affliction.
Most people aren't loners. They want to belong to a group. Loners have less of that desire and therefore it frees our minds to think for ourselves because we're not driven by acceptance.
