Seriously, so their 1.2 hit songs are good, and if you listen they are well-produced. BUT - they were definitely late arrivals to the whole Hair Thing as evidenced by their fake-Bowie over-the-top nod - but not commitment (see Enuff Z Nuff) - to androgeny. They basically tried to out-sensationalize when there were several better bands well-established in the genre (as insipid as said genre was, IMO).
"I Wanna Rock" was also a hit at the time, but doesn't have the "royalty power" of "WNGTI" - so I kinda came up with "1.2" to describe it, like yuppie couples' children count
