Don’t forget choosing a fancy 4 year college. When there are cheaper local Community Colleges to get some of the general Ed classes out of the way.

You pay extra for the privilege of taking those classes at a 4 year.

Not to mention working part time during College can offset some of the costs. Sure you can’t party as much. But the debt won’t be as severe when you get out of College,

Hell. A useless major isn’t even a barricade to a decent job. A lot of places just want a bachelors degree in something as a pre-req. But that might require them to open their horizons and do something they might have found beneath them.

Being an insurance agent or something might not satisfy their desire to use a philosophy degree to wax poetically about the evils of Capitalism. But a check is a check.
