Nothing looks like it has a bass reflex speaker in it playing an oscillating signal, it looks like it is blowing the fire out from the air moving from the speaker

That's exactly what it is. It's the air reacting with the tone and frankly, to put out a large fire you will never be able to build one big enough. The demo was fucking stupid. a little alcohol burning in tinfoil and it took a long time just for that!
