Monsanto owns Glyphosate and they wanted to sell it to farmers for week control, but Glyphosate kills the crops along with the weeds so what did they do? The saw a plant that did not die from the Glyphosate, so they studied it and found the plant has its own protection against Glyphosate. They isolated the gene responsible for the protection against the Glyphosate and spliced it into crops and now farmers can spray boatloads of the stuff all over the crops, which still absorb the Glyphosate but they don't die from it, they pass it along to whomever eats the crops. Nice huh??
Shouldn't they be aiming for year control?
