There will be a great problem soon with disposal of used lithium batteries. There is no standardised routine for disposal when they come to end of life, in about ten years

Lithium is a mono fuel, it doesn't need oxygen to catch fire and reacts violently when exposed to water, the only way to put out a fire is to cover it with bone dry earth or sand.

A fire depts nightmare.
