Not understanding, A gun has to be registered when purchased. what's it matter how its paid for ?

Just guessing, but registration is with the state. This makes it inconvenient with banks if they want to stop payment on gun purchases. Maybe it is easier to weaponize the financial system (BlackRock, ESG, etc) than to deal with 50 states, which include many red states.
