Agreed OP. I would also add something that I've sadly realized in the last year or two. Once people start making good money (like nationally syndicated voices) most of them will not do anything to risk their brand, even if it means avoiding the truth. I see / hear it over and over again this self-censoring and it's very disappointing. There are inspiring exceptions though - like Lara Logan.
Instead of looking to "protect their brand" (aka protect their wealth), they should be asking how to build on what made them wealth in the first place. That will generate the most wealth without selling your soul.
If there's one type of person I hate, it's people who sell out others once they "make it." Don't exploit good people to get ahead. Period.
nice (adj.)
late 13c., "foolish, ignorant, frivolous, senseless," from Old French nice (12c.) "careless, clumsy; weak; poor, needy; simple, stupid, silly, foolish," from Latin nescius "ignorant, unaware," literally "not-knowing," from ne- "not" (from PIE root *ne- "not") + stem of scire "to know" (see science). "The sense development has been extraordinary, even for an adj." [Weekley] -- from "timid, faint-hearted" (pre-1300); to "fussy, fastidious" (late 14c.); to "dainty, delicate" (c. 1400); to "precise, careful" (1500s, preserved in such terms as a nice distinction and nice and early); to "agreeable, delightful" (1769); to "kind, thoughtful" (1830).
Thanks.. That does shed some light…
But even with the more modern interpretation being accepted, the practice of setting it as a precedent Ahead of Truth, When Ignoring That Truth is Putting People You Love At Dangerous Risk, is beyond Irresponsible !! WHERE’S THE LINE ??
If someone had a gun to your childs head, would you offer them a cup of Coffee??
Not knowing where nice stops and STANDING THE HELL UP STARTS ??
UNFRIGGING BELIEVABLE !!!!
Probably true… feel bad for them.. and most of them almost always become nasty if not nastier when people aren’t nice to them.. Double standards.. But that’s easy to spot.. I’m getting to the point where good people being NICE at the Expense of being STRONG AND RESPONSIBLE bothers me more… the result is so wrong… It becomes the proverbial Wolf in Sheeps clothing in that it confuses them and other good people, and enables evil people …

Money is the root of all evil.
