Agreed OP. I would also add something that I've sadly realized in the last year or two. Once people start making good money (like nationally syndicated voices) most of them will not do anything to risk their brand, even if it means avoiding the truth. I see / hear it over and over again this self-censoring and it's very disappointing. There are inspiring exceptions though - like Lara Logan.
Instead of looking to "protect their brand" (aka protect their wealth), they should be asking how to build on what made them wealth in the first place. That will generate the most wealth without selling your soul.
If there's one type of person I hate, it's people who sell out others once they "make it." Don't exploit good people to get ahead. Period.
