But a lot of "their numbers" are dropping dead from the shots.

I haven't dealt with crime since the mid-1970s, and inflation doesn't hurt so terribly much, as I'm eating groceries I bought two years ago. The groceries I buy today will be cheap compared to what groceries might be two years from now.

I would expect crime to go up as times get worse and people get more desperate.
