Why does the weaker movie of Godfather trilogy get mentioned so many times?
Synopsis: In the final installment of the Godfather Trilogy, an aging Don Michael Corleone seeks to legitimize his crime family's interests and remove himself from the violent underworld but is kept back by the ambitions of the young. While he attempts to link the Corleone's finances with the Vatican, Michael must deal with the machinations of a hungrier gangster seeking to upset the existing Mafioso order and a young protege's love affair with his daughter.

And if you're young, and haven't seen the first two Godfathers, please do yourself a favor and search for those two movies. They are classic.
I think the Vatican Bank being used to front fake charities to commit organized crime is the big lesson of this movie. I watched it last year. That was my take away. The Vatican Bank is recalling all its investments by the end of the month. My guess is they’re prepping for the shit show about to go down in Europe.
I watched the movie last year and the main takeaway for me was that all these Foundations owned by the elite would soon be exposed for the corrupt criminal enterprises they are.

"The Vito Corleone Foundation helps the poor in every country, gives grants to artists, funds medical research, and is particularly dedicated to the resurrection of Sicily." -MARY CORLEONE
The Vito Corleone Foundation was a foundation started by Michael Corleone some time after 1959 and named in honor of his father Vito Corleone. It was chaired by Michael's daughter Mary Corleone. In actuality, the organization had been financed heavily by the criminal activities of another organization named Corleone. It was also a vehicle for Michael Corleone to launder money in his obsession to go straight; i.e. transition from a mafioso to a legal businessman.
Sound familiar?
Plus of course the obvious financial corruption of the Vatican.
These comments are good. And… what I noticed about the movie plot re: Q, is how Michael sets up a big old trap for his lying enemies, and destroys them all in the end.
Sort of like we hope the white hats are doing to the corrupt commie scumbags who want to destroy us.
Just another take on this movie.
Thanks for these recommendations. Keep it up
Wha?, yeah right.
See the 1984 book "In God's Name: An Investigation Into the Murder of Pope John Paul I"; which murder was depicted in Godfather III. Notably, the book has an in-depth investigation into the inner workings of the the Vatican Bank.
