I can't say if the books claims are true or not, they could be, but there is no way to verify, so just keep that in mind if you choose to read it.

Perhaps they did not have the means of control that they now have. It took much technology to allow them the control of governments, people and media. They also have a very long game. Read the writings of Albert Pike from the 1800's. He had incredible insight into future events of the world..
