The Russians won't need to invade at the rate the EU and NATO are blundering in this war. There are wheels within wheels and there may be more players and roles than we have seen so far: but it is obvious by now that Ukraine is the planned "cannon fodder" for the US, via NATO, to wage a proxy war against Russia. That was the purpose of NATO since its origin, to fend off Russia, or rather the USSR.
The EU was set up for economic purposes, basically, though it looks like an attempt to become a unified Europe like the US. But it is not an organic union. There are thousands of years of regional contention. The EU's governance is more irritating than unifying. The whole Potemkin union is held together by economic pressures from the various globalist factions.
The EU complements NATO in that the EU is committed to backing Ukraine in this proxy fight, and showing their commitment by sending weapons and following the US lead in sanctioning Russia. This last policy is backfiring badly. The German and UK economies are hurting already. The pipeline sabotage may be a pressure move by the US to keep the EU countries from wavering in opposing Russia or supporting Ukraine, or maybe some people decided to up the sanctions, but imo it will just hasten the collapse of both the EU and NATO. Russia can stay out of it and let the European countries keep shooting themselves in the foot.
