Only source I found was that "Jesusfreak" read an article in 2000 by reader's digest in an interview with Francis Crick (one of the major contributors to the DNA model), were he claimed they had discovered 140,000 genomes and expected to find 4,000 more. Well, I looked for that article for hours and came back empty handed. If someone smarter than me can find it, it would sure paint a more complete picture.
