On the one hand, the Bolsheviks were pretty brutal to the Ukraine and that’s still in living memory.

On the other hand, there are more than just those two options…

Bolsheviks were not Russian, the USSR was a creation of the Khazars, Communism in all of it's formats are not organic. There was a lot of Ethnic Cleansing done by the Khazars, not the Russians.
