I've always wondered if fashion shows are comms. The various symbolism expressed in the designs, and different attributes representing different messages. Hell, maybe each fashion house represents some DS player, and their respective "styles" implying a subset of comms meant to be interpreted differently. All these high-level A-listers and moguls go to these shows to get a first-hand-view of the comms themselves. That's why the outfits are so outlandish— they're hidden messages.
*edit: not to forget, they're also probably a meat-market for anyone looking to buy time with the "models" on display.
