The dentist that work for had a dizzy spell, lost feeling in his right hand. Took him to the ER, check in nurse claimed " what's going on, you are my 6th patient since 9:00 that has had the same symptoms. He's had 3 moderna shots. The hair on my neck stood up.
I'm in Florida, Space Coast area
they used to put u in a room with lead lined walls for dental X-rays. Digital X-rays are a vast improvement and such things are no longer required. Although most dentists will still put a lead apron on their patients, I do believe.
That's because it's easier to just put the apron on then try to explain to the patient that todays xrays are digital and if they are pregnant I place the apron around their belly just...ease my mind in case.
Interesting point that's not too related, but some may find interesting. I was in another country once, Turkey, and some issues happened with someone in my family that led to them getting an x-ray.
No insurance and total visit including x-ray and everything else ran us about $15 all in, including medication. Noticed that during the x-ray they did NOT use lead-lined aprons or any of the other protective equipment one would normally expect.
They definitely do all that here, however, what would a visit cost including an x-ray? $1-2k+?
I have observed patients coming in that have had dental work done in other Countries and the work is underpar compared to US . The dentists are regulated and malpractice up the butt where they can't or I should say better not get caught. The dental supply companies price for materials and equipment are outrageous. Basically, dentists are cheap skates and have a high suicide rate from people are constantly telling them they hate dentists.. lol I believe the high pitch sound of the handpieces plays major part in their mental well being.
Limited exam with xray... around 130?
