If you really looked into it. You’d find it’s happening on literally every platform people can interact with each other on with any degree of anonymity. Some platforms are just better at keeping the stories out of the prime time news slots.
The Internet allows people to drop the mask of norms and niceties polite society requires us to wear. For most it results in perhaps being a bit ruder and more unfiltered. For some though. It allows their darker, sinister, and predatory natures out.
