Was checking out the plane maps and noticed SAM327 GLF5 Military aircraft over Canada. Clicked the route and checked flight history and am left wondering what we are doing over in China and Taiwan?

SAMs are just Special Air Missions. 99% of the time these are just transporting an ambassador or other dignitary somewhere. It’s technically a military aircraft, but not necessarily a “military” mission.
Not that I trust Wiki, but the G5 isn't listed in the current roster of SAM planes. That said, any G5 can be designated as a special air mission.
We have tons of gulf streams in our SAM fleet. Besides, any aircraft can technically be used for a SAM, what makes it a SAM is what it’s going up for, not it’s registration number.
