I'm now remembering 11th grade English when we had to read "The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair. Ugh.. That class was right before lunch.
It was so gross. And sad... Was it a lie, too? I was traumatized by that book.
...The Jungle was purported to be true, although many have said Sinclair was practicing Yellow Journalism which was popular in that era...
...True or not, it effected a massive shift in the way the meat packing industry did business....
