Didn’t know where else to post this so I figured I’d post here as some might appreciate it.
Wife and I just got home yesterday from the hospital after giving birth to our first child, a healthy girl!
The hospital staff was very respectful for our wishes to deny vaccines, Vit K, antibiotic eye cream, etc. my wife wanted to give birth as natural as possible. Unfortunately my wife just wasn’t dilating enough, and the nurses, midwife, and doula spent soooo much time and effort trying different positions and stretches, rather than pushing for epidural + Pitocin.
Unfortunately we did need a c-section, as too much time had passed and infection was becoming a possibility, but I figured it would be worth sharing that not all health professionals are lost to “woke” culture!
Was a great breath of fresh air as we were expecting doctors to come in and give us “the talk”.
Pitosin is rough, especially if body not naturally dilating. pitosin, as I understand, induces contractions - a hellish experience if not dilated! I know from this happening with my ex during birth of our 3rd child . Glad to hear of the good experience and birth of your child friend. God Bless.
I had pitocin too, with my first, it was a horrible experience, the pain was unbearable especially the back pain. I couldn't push him out, he was too big so I ended up with a c-section.
Wow yeah I can see that happening. It was a possibility with ours too, but thankfully the docs in my kids' mom's case were able to "reverse" or counteract the pitocin by whatever means and let her keep dilating while calming the contractions. It was brutal to even watch, I can only imagine the actual pain. There was a graph of some kind that showed the strength and timing of contractions, and they just shot up after it kicked in. The pitocin is some powerful stuff - and unnatural. The body is supposed to gradually dilate and contractions gradually strengthen naturally, and when that doesn't happen very well, and a doctor who you at least partially trust, recommends pitocin, it's easy to go with it.... glad you made it through (:
None of that is ill will or woke. When she contracts it can squeeze the cord and they can see the deaccelerations of the babies heart. Sometimes they just need the baby out
Right yes I wouldn't have considered it ill will or especially not woke in any way. Just something that turned out not to work for our situation. I imagine pitosin has been helpful for some.... but only in cases where the dilation is able to progress as quickly as the contractions will..
