I already tutor my grandchildren with their so-called homework. It seems the 'NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND' policy hasn't taught them anything. I hate to say it, but the kids don't seem to care as they know they are going to 'pass' anyway. So now we are left to enforce the 'learning process' as it seems that the 'homework' doesn't matter if they are doing it anyway as they are NOT graded on it. Then WHY send homework home. It's like the education system is contradicting itself. I say even if I do have one 10 year old who doesn't care if he learns or not; a 9 year old with ADHD and dyslexia and an 8 year old who has sensory issues, I WILL PROUDLY TRY MY BEST TO TEACH THEM WHAT THEY NEED TO KNOW. And there will NOT be any VACCINES either.
Education has always been the parents responsibility. Our kids are OUR kids not the state's. Part of [their] long game is to produce slaves through the public school system. You are awesome for this effort! Our kids are our best investment!
Someone has got to do it and our teachers/not all but most; are not the full-time educators our tax dollars are paying for. It started when my own kids were in school. They would come home in the afternoon with notes from teacher reading, "You need to sit down and study/work with your child on math, reading, etc." I would get fuming mad and wonder, "What am I paying you for?"
When I was in school, we didn't get notes like that because our teachers did their jobs instead of arguing that they weren't getting paid enough. My mother Did Not work as my father was a good provider with 8 kids. My mother would have gone to that school and told them to DO THEIR JOB. I on the other hand had to work to provide because I chose wrong and ended up with an alcoholic. I had to help my daughter with her words every day after work as she had a speech problem along with all the other assignments and after schoolwork. My son I didn't have to help much, but there were times I had to. That's when I noticed something was wrong with our school system.
