Wasn't this the same guy who said "God is Dead"? Was he just anti-authorian or did he quotes of mixed quality?

He wasn't saying that as a preference or anything. It was an unfavorable outlook and description of the path society would follow as state/"science"/etc. replaced God in people's lives. Or so is my understanding.
