You know damn well what my first thought was as to the cause of it.
And I see this lady every week. I feel so bad for her. I hope she's going to be ok. It shook me up to see this happen right in front of me.

I have mixed feelings on this sentiment. I think there are two types of people now:
If you are in 1) you are special. If you are type 2), you consented to evil happening and you did not speak up - regardless of the fact that you are a victim too. All that we had to do was all speak with one voice and say "We're not going to take it". And it would have all stopped. But only a small proportion did and the rest were very happy for the most appalling human rights abuses to be visited upon the people in group 1).
Hard to have sympathy for people who were identical the general population in Nazi Germany. They were all complicit. Group 2) is all complicit.
