From what I've read during the past few years, free speech has been on shaky ground in Canada for years. They actually will arrest standup comics if they say certain things on stage!
Canada gave up free speech in the 70's be legislating "hate speech" that has now been expanded such that deadnaming a tranny can be a hate crime.
