It wasn’t what I thought it would be, but I have another day so I am waiting to make full judgement. However, while discussing the KKK, the narrative came up that they were the republicans of today, and that the parties switched names. Seems convenient. I mean, they described it as if you were any kind of public official you had to be part of the KkK so there were thousands of people in the KKK, they were no fringe group. Can anyone share any informative accurate links to this unfortunate part of our history?

Democrats LOVE to claim that the parties switched sides. Try this trick that I discovered. Ask them WHEN the parties changed sides. They will hem and haw and not commit, once they've squirmed enough, loosen the strings a bit and say "okay, give me a ten-year period that the switch took place". Once they pick a date range, just pick any prominent politicians from BEFORE that date and say. Okey, then, so you're saying FDR was a Republican and Hoover was a Democrat? Etc. Etc. Hilarity ensues. It really makes the morons squirm pretty well.
