I want to read the Bible, cover to cover, but I don’t want some pozzed, modern translation of it.
What’s the best/most based translation of the Bible?

What’s the best/most based translation of the Bible?
There are various translations and ways of translating the Bible. The best is a word for word translation. There are others that are a thought for thought translation.
Modern Bible translations have had more manuscripts available (discovered since the Tindale Bible and KJV translations) that provide more accurate translations.
If you want to read the older translations, then the Tindale, Geneva, and KJV are all good. For modern day translations, there is the NKJV, the NASB, the ESV.
Those all are word for word translations that do a good job. If you want to see side by side comparisons of Scripture, go to Biblehub.com and type in a Scripture verse and you will get the verse from about 25 different Bibles to compare.
If you want a great Bible with attached commentary, you could get anyone of the three I mentioned above in the John MacArthur Study Bible. The commentaries are at the bottom of each page and are excellent.
