It's interesting because I just moved to a major city in Canada, and if we didn't have immigrants it would grind to a halt. From the guy who installed my cable (Philippines) to the woman who cut my hair (Iraq) and the guy who delivered the couch (Pakistan), we would be screwed without them. All my Canadian nephews want to design games. No manual labour. Period.
Well the woman who cuts my hair told me that as a Christian living in Iraq, they gave her an ultimatum to convert, or be killed, so there's that. She fled. They can't always stay in the country they were born in.

I feel for her. I suppose she has come through the asylum route.
Here in the UK, our government have brought in radical Muslims from the Free Syrian Army (ISIS by another name). These are dangerous people. As citizens we get no say in this. It's just something the government does to us. We also get lots of well meaning and kind people, but no say in that either.
I am sorry to hear that. That is an awful situation, and I have not seen that in Canada yet. The immigrants here tend to be business owners, or filling jobs. Paying taxes, contributing.

If those people are useful then why deprive the originator countries of their services?
We have a lot of trained medical staff from other countries in the NHS in the UK. These are all people who will be missed where they moved from.
It's just like outsourcing all manufacture to China, It's a really bad idea all around.
It's globalism
