Don’t mean to be picky, but sentence “stayed” not “suspended”. Stayed means put on hold until his appeal of the conviction is completed. If he does not win the appeal, the sentence is carried out. If the sentence is suspended, he would not go to jail even if he lost his appeal so long as he met whatever conditions were imposed.
