If a gladiator is in the final rounds of his fight in the ring, with his opponent mortally wounded and flailing,

...and another gladiator runs in to 'tap the soon to be victor' out,

hoping to gain the glory of the victory for himself...,

the second gladiator deserves no glory or fame. He is tainted by ambition and ego.

I would NEVER rally for the usurper.

This whole Trump vs DeSantis in 2024 is a test of the character of Ron DeSantis.
