Forty-two percent of America’s young-but-cynical Generation Z are dealing with a mental health condition, a new survey finds. A range of these issues were largely identified during the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The analysis by Harmony Healthcare IT suggests tens of millions of Gen Z young adults started dealing with a mental health problem in the months immediately following the start of the global pandemic in March 2020. The Indiana-based data management company’s survey highlights a staggering percentage of young adults diagnosed with anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) during the pandemic.
Interesting that they dont include gen y/millennials. I was born in 84 got spanked by a belt. Didnt have a game device until I was 12. Spent all summers and days after school outside or with others. Got my first phone and job at 16. Could say that I was in the better half of my gen that was raised like those in previous years. Gen z sounds like they’ve been suckin on technology teet for to long with shitty parents. Even my own sister 38 has three boys who act like animals when they dont get techno teet 12, 8, 5. Had to put kids on drugs already cus oldest is wanting revenge on others as keeps saying he wants to kill himself. Feel it is mainly a lack of interaction of parents with kids instead whole families are on tech teet.
I have 5 kids spaced 1980-1989 and I agree that the first half of the millenials seems to be better than the 2nd half. My kids were like you...outside playing or in sports, church and other activities as they got older...no electronics. They are all great hard-working kids but they really struggled during covid to keep everything as normal as possible for my grandkids. They did pretty well. One daughter even moved because of her cul-de-sac's crazy attitude about masking, vax etc.
I spanked and all my kids don't spank and I feel like the biggest problem with that is that since both parents work, when they are with the kids they don't want to be "mean", so sometimes the kids run the show. I think the grandkids could behave better but, hey, I am not raising them.
As a parent you do the best you can and, inevitably, you make mistakes. I do not envy anyone raising kids today because there is just so much stress and craziness that kids have to endure, ergo the point of the article. The more tech for kids the worse everything is so I am glad they are all pretty active but raising kids is the hardest job in the world and you only get one shot at it, so I just say pray, pray and then pray some more. Covid has been hard on everyone.
Found this could be a reason for the mental problems. Im sure you didnt have many vaxs and i had some kids now are getting way to many.

I did not vaccinate my children...yes many side effects and problems with childhood vaccines.
Wish my parents didnt. They were both military and say we took 10x this and that we are fine so our genetics have been altered and your stil human and had your shots blah blah, but I say compared to what I could have been.
