The antiChrist is accepted by people in the stead of Christ. Non-issue for Christians. We aren't the target. We hear the voice of the Shephard and a strangers we won't follow. Pre-mid-post regardless.
How could believers fall for false Christ's, when He literally just said in that passage the things that must come that it's not Him if they say they are. Had He not, sure, but He explained it off so its not fallen for. The false prophet paves the way and prepares the people for the antiChrist like John the Baptist prepared the people for Jesus. Who's gonna prepare God's people to accept something instead of Christ, when they have Christ and won't listen to the voice of the stranger saying I am in the desert, come? That's for the lost.
It is very easy to be deceived if you believe in the chiliastic 1000 year heresy, or if you believe in the rapture. Also, the devil doesn’t play fair. You think the antichrist will just use rational arguments? He will use them, of course, but he will also hypnotize people, and preform false miracles of all kinds. All who hope in miracles will fall for him too. The only people that won’t be fooled will be those advanced in the practice of the Jesus prayer, those who, with their whole being, in deed and word and thought, hope only on God, on Jesus Christ.

Then why did Christ specifically say “take care you are not deceived”? This implies that there is a danger of such deception.

Matthew 24:24 - For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
IF possible. My point exactly.
Not sure what your interpretation is, my interpretation of this verse is even the elect can be deceived. Jesus did not say it's impossible.
"If it were possible", is the KJV phrasing that I agree with.
